What a Life! May 4, 2007

Yesterday was a great day. I know some of you think of running errands as such a horrible chore, but to me it was freedom. I was able to take Adam to school, buy Luke some shoes and take him to his doctors apt, pick up the van, and go grocery shopping (All of course with help form my mom and friends).  I was lucky to spend the evening with friends and family. It was a wonderful day! I had no one cutting me open, or giving me worse news about my newfound body guest, cancer. I have to tell you that there is such freedom in everyday mundane tasks. It is wonderful to have your independence and to just enjoy life. I spend more time watching my kids and nurturing relationships. Life can be changed and taken away so fast. The one thing we are able to leave with is our experiences. The lasting memories of all the things we do here. So when I take time to think about what it is I want to leave this life with, it is LOVE. I want to live a life full of loving experiences because a life without it seems so bleak. Our experiences shape us and give us depth. Some of my current experiences are very painful and scary, but my appreciation for a day without pain is so much greater because of it. So sit back and think what is most important to you right now, and then take the time to nurture that and consider whether your life is truly balanced. Who cares in the end if the dishes are dirty or the laundry isn’t put away if you get one more chance to hold, kiss, talk, and experience depth with the ones you love. Life is just too short to miss out on the good stuff!!! Enjoy your day!!!
