Today was the Big Day we shaved my head. My brother-in-law Bobby joined me as we had a shaving party. My friend Judy from Hailey Studios came and photographed the big event. It was terrifying but it was fun to have everyone there. Adam after I was done said, “Mommy you look beautiful!” Then he went over to uncle Eric and said he wanted to look like me. So Adam had his head shaved soon followed by Tyler. So I have three bald boys. I think we might get some looks!!! My boys are just so precious to me and I’m just in tears thinking about what they did. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful little Monkeys! LOVE the new do’s!! Wow! Saw the whole slide show on the no-hair celebration..Dynamite! It’s a whole new view of the Jeide and Russell families. Previous responses were right; you have the perfect head for showing skin! Now, all you need to do is try out for the multimillion-dollar heroine of next year’s big blockbuster adventure film. (I hear the contracts add big $$ for perfect shaved heads!) You and your family should be able to fully enjoy the afternoon breezes of coastal San Diego like never before–without fuss or overheating! That is, after you choose a hat and some SPF, of course!
You have a fantastic support group, there! It was especially great to see the rest of the fam standing around, sporting grandkids in hand or sitting at nearby ‘barbur’ stations, having their hair shaved, including the little monkeys, who wear their bald smiles proudly like a mom-badge .. and to see you trustingly, tenderly grabbing your husband’s hand as he did the honors with the razor. He may not fully express how bittersweet that must have been to cut your hair himself, but we see a staunchly supportive,indomitable group of cheerleaders (and a few ruthless jokers!) making this memory into one HUGE PARTY! Well done. Wish I could have been a fly on the wall…

p.s.–i ditto wynne’s comments on how stunning you look today, susan! the fact that you can put together a gorgeous outfit, accessories and all, blows me away! all i could muster the strength for today was a worn out t-shirt and frumpy “jogging” suit. and then after the park, i had to come home and take a nap right along with my kids! i’ll tell ya, rounding up my 2 kids plus adam and luke was just a tad tiring! i may have forgotten your diaper bag at the park, but i did NOT lose/forget a child! whew! your boys were angels, as usaul, and that lukie…what an appetite! he really likes applesauce and peanut butter sandwhiches!
