I’m Offically Cancer Free!!!! June 10, 2008

Filed under: Diagnosis — susanjeide @ 5:23 pm

WOW!!! How can you sum up that kind of news?  We had a PET Scan done last Thursday and we got the results yesterday.

It said: No evidence of tumor
Interval resolution of the abnormal activity
Improvement in density R lung base
All areas “Pet negative”

I keep thinking it is a dream and I’m going to wake up.  But it seems to be real!  Did you ever think this day would come?   I’m humbled and grateful this day has finally come!  This kind of trail really changes a person it also makes me realise how long and overwhelming it felt being in the midst of it and now I look back thinking wow in a year I’m all done!  I hope to have many more years of great news like this.  What a relief!!!  Lets CELEBRATE!!!!

Congratulations Susan. You have earned a priceless badge of honor. What a survivor. Lori W. and even the others (though I don’t know them) couldn’t have said it better than I could think of. Thank you for sharing your heart and writing about your innermost feelings with others in this difficult journey. I hope you consider publishing this. If you do, let me know. So many people can benefit and you’ve got a gift with writing (this comes much more difficult with me). You have been such a strength to lean on and an inspiration for me. The transformation that has taken place over just a year in your life is remarkable. Your in my prayers. This is the best communicator.

  19. Julie Russell Says:

I accidently found your blog by doing a google search for “pain at night”. I have been reading through your blogs all morning. I am glad you are now cancer free.

Hi – just stumbled across your blog while doing other research. Congratulations on the great results. I read that first entry and just started tearing up. I’m a pretty young guy, but none the less underwent prostate cancer treatment last year and in to this spring. I am testing in the negatives, so know the relief of being told that in all likely hood you’ve won. There is so much in that simple realization: I’ve never felt so powerful in my entire life. I hope you can revel it. Roll around in the joy of it until you are worn out from laughing.

Be well and share what you’ve learned.

  23. Mary Says:

I’ve just read your story, stumbled across your blog while researching PET scans, and want desperately to be encouraged by it. I was cleared of exactly the same disease (nodular sclerosing type) last April after 12 rounds of chemo (ABVD) but no radiation. A CT I had a month ago shows a shadow where I had a mediastinal mass; I had a PET scan today in Toronto and am in that waiting place again – it’s awful knowing there are results waiting to come, to be delivered via a phone call. Life can be changed in a moment. I really hope you’re well. Your story is so familiar to me – for the sake of my 3 children (5 1/2, 3 1/2 and 1 1/2) I hope so much I can echo your claim to being cancer-free.

Thanks for sharing such a candid account of your journey.

1 п. “Не имей сто друзей, а имей сто шекелей” тоже хорошо рифмуется :)
8 п. Ты никогда не потеряешь работу. Когда закончатся фотографии можно размещать рисунки (да хоть бы и конкурс объявить на лучший рисунок Одри (-:), аппликации и фотографии поделок из пластилина…
    9 п. Сто пудов ! :)
